Site Analysis

Originally called Thorn Garth, this impressive historic home was built in 1894 during a period of significant growth in Ilkley. It was commissioned by Joseph Hill, a prominent local figure and Justice of the Peace for the City of Bradford. The property offers stunning views of Wharfedale, Beamsley Beacon, the moors, and the famous Cow & Calf rocks.

This property covers approximately 3.2 acres and includes a tennis court, croquet lawn, and a secret garden. It also features beautiful terraces that surround the entire property and receive ample sunlight.

The architect, Edward J Dodgshun, was well-known for blending Victorian and Arts & Crafts styles. One of his most famous works is the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon.
