North Facing Town Garden
This historic terraced house looks out over Harrogate’s famous Stray Parkland. Nestled in behind the house is a beautifully complex garden. The hard landscaping weaves through this long thin terraced garden pausing for various circle patio areas. The garden is further divided by various existing Yew and Buxus hedges and a patchwork of medium sized borders.
Our planting design focuses on relaxation and exploration, with an emphasis on movement and continuity. Because the garden is so compartmentalised by its existing structure we sought to weave various themes through the planting in order to join the various section together. These themes evolve and change within the different borders, each section emphasising a different point of interest as well as continuing aspects of the borders and sections around it. The planting is in a naturalistic style to juxtapose the hustle and bustle of Harrogate and create a peaceful and relaxing environment.
