Features:

  • deciduous, often multi-stemmed, tree with a rounded-crown.

  • The heart-shaped leaves emerge orange-red in spring, turning a bright gold-yellow in full sun and maturing to a yellow-green colour.

  • Clusters of small, pea-like, rose-purple flowers are borne on bare branches in the spring before the foliage emerges.

Care:

Simply remove dead and damaged branches in winter. If you are looking for a good foliage from the plant, once established can benefit from a hard prune in early spring applying a good fertiliser after.
