When to prune -

  • Evergreens should be pruned back after frost has finished to avoid frost damage on new growth. Mid-spring

What to prune -

  • Remove shoots that have flowered to within 1.5-2.5cm (¾-1in) of the previous year's growth

  • Dead head flower that have gone over

  • Branches that are weak or spindly in order to promote stronger growth in others
